Churchill Borough publishes all official notices in this small local paper, The Valley Mirror.

So to be notified of projects such as the Hillwood one for Amazon, residents need to read this weekly publication.

Unfortunately, it only prints 5000 copies, found mostly in out-of-the-way locations, such as the one at Kuhns grocery, where you have to hunt to find it (assuming you even know of its existence).

It only has 500 subscribers.  Murray just subscribed.

Consequently, for most residents of Churchill, the Churchill Borough public notices do not exit.  It appears simply to be the act of going through the motions regulations require.

The publication is owned by another company but is put together by Marilyn Schiavoni, who manages it.

It covers 8 or nine small local boroughs with local content.

We need to bring this to the attention of more borough members so that we are not blind-sided in the future as in the case of Hillwood.

Surrounding communities such as Swissvale, Forest Hills, Dravosburg, Braddock, and Homestead also use it for public notices.
